Parents,
Thank you for letting us have the opportunity to work and play with your sons this year. It is always our goal to "teach" while also allowing them to have the most "fun". We sure hope that you felt as though your boys were in good hands.
They made great progress this year. As you may have noticed, they made incredible strides between the first two games (losses) versus the end of the year (tournament champs)! They made great jumps in their abilities (base running, signals, positions, hitting, etc) that they can carry to the next year.
This last game was for the boys. Yes, we lost. But, it was with kids at new positions and four boys who hadn't pitched before. And we think they all did great!
Hopefully we gave both the parents and the kids a season to remember. We will certainly remember them. Have a great summer and we hope to see you all at the ballfield next year!

MONDAY APRIL 13
Fields are OPEN according to the Clinton Parks & Rec website. Be prepared to be at the fields at 5:15pm to begin batting practice and infield drills. Ask your player if they can do the following:
Remember the signals? Steal? Bunt? Take a pitch?
Be aggressive on the bases? Primary lead? Secondary lead? Watching the pitcher?
Be prepared to hit the baseball tonight? There's nothing wrong with swinging and missing a strike!!!
Be prepared to back-up others at your position? Get the ball in quickly?
We all know how to do this, but the BEST teams come prepared to perform. As Coach Landfair says, "once we step between those white lines, we had better be prepared to play baseball". And that means all of the above!

FIRST GAME OF THE YEAR
Saturday during "Fun Day" at Traceway Park! Wear black socks and black belts along with your gray baseball pants. Jerseys and caps will be given out this week. These boys are getting better each practice. We've worked on throwing, hitting, defense (double-plays, game situations, etc), leadoff base running, steals, and much more. You will definately want to see us come together in our first game!

Results From Monday Practice
Overall, a good showing from our first time on the field together. Lots of guys out there getting back into the swing of fielding, throwing, and catching. A few kids might be looking at new positions on the field but nothing is set yet. We are lucky to have a lot of kids who can play a number of positions!
Parents: Remind your kids that every player on the field has a job to do on EVERY PLAY. If we remember this, and hustle on each play, then we should look pretty good this year. A little more "rust" to get off, but otherwise we're looking OK so far!
Get excited about the coming year!
